Psychiatric Inpatient Program

The Center for Emotional Recovery at Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center treats adults with a psychiatric disorder, such as depression, anxiety or bipolar disorder, that hinders their ability to go about daily life. Treatment focuses on developing foundational skills for dealing with challenges and establishing support systems.

Psychiatric inpatient care is designed to therapeutically stabilize the patient’s current emotional crisis and address their inability to achieve autonomy. Our treatment team of mental health professionals provides reparative help through cognitive psychotherapy, aggressive pharmacotherapy and problem-solving groups in a structured, predictable therapeutic environment.

One of our day treatment programs can serve as a less intensive alternative to inpatient care or a step-down for continued recovery. The results of a no-cost assessment determine the level of care to which a patient is initially admitted.
