A former internist, Dr. Hallman began practicing Addiction Medicine in 1999 in Lynchburg, VA where he worked as the Substance Abuse Medical Director at Central Virginia Community Services Board. He was certified by the American Society of Addition Medicine in 2002, and certified to prescribe Buprenorphine for opiate dependence in 2001. He has offered maintenance treatment with this medication since 2006. Dr Hallman is the immediate past president of the Virginia Chapter of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, A Fellow with the American Society of Addiction Medicine and is Board Certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Dr Hallman practices and is CEO of Meridian Psychotherapy in Virginia Beach. He strongly feels that chemical addition is a disease and that as such can be successfully treated.
Originally from Nebraska, Mark T. Schreiber did his medical school and residency training at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He is double board certified in Psychiatry, and also in Addition Medicine. He has served as delegate to the Medical Society of Virginia. He is a Distinguished Life Fellow in the American Psychiatric Association, and a Fellow in the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Schreiber has been practicing psychiatry for the past thirty nine years and has diagnosed and treated over nineteen thousand patients. He currently specializes in Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine, from ages eighteen and above. He treats depression, anxiety and panic disorders, bipolar illness, schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and post traumatic stress disorder. He does medication management, psychotherapy, and runs addiction recovery groups. He is trained in administering Trans-cranial Magnetic Stimulation Therapy (TMS) for clinical depression, bipolar, and schizoaffective disorders. Dr. Schreiber is truly passionate about what he does. His experience, knowledge and caring insightful approach make him one of the premier psychiatrists in the area. He also practices at Ocean Psychiatric Group in Virginia Beach.
Dr. Schreiber and his wife joined Bayside Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach in 1978. Along the way both became elders, and subsequently, Dr. Schreiber was recruited by then senior elders Don Merchant and Mary Hutchinson to become involved in mission work in Kinshasa, the capitol city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, through the church’s global mission outreach, and through the International Partnership Ministry of the Presbytery of Eastern Virginia. With the involvement of many, many people, Dr. Schreiber has helped build, along with sister churches in Kinshasa, a number of medical clinics, supplied two medical support vehicles, built a full-service hospital, and finally, a school just outside of Kinshasa, the latter being named after him, the Mark Schreiber School!!!
