Below are the answers to many questions we receive from patients and their families. For more information, please contact us.

What do I bring?

Please bring comfortable clothing for 4-5 days; we have laundry facilities here for you to wash your clothes.  Clothes with strings, ties, and belts are prohibited.  We ask that you leave all valuable items (money, credit cards, jewelry, electronics, etc.) at home.

What about visitors?

Visiting hours are limited and are different on each unit.  Please call the receptionist for specific days and times at 757-496-6000.  A Confidentiality Code is given to each patient upon admission.  This code is to provide access to the patient for phone calls and visitation ONLY; please have the code when calling.

If you are a visitor, please do not bring any outside food items. Purses and cell phones are not allowed on the units; please lock them securely before entering.

How do I know what my insurance will pay?

We work with most insurance and managed care companies.  Information regarding your co-pay and deductible can be determined during business hours, Monday through Friday.  We also have a Financial Counselor to help you determine the best strategy in your financial situation.

What if I need help in the middle of the night, or on the weekend?

Remember- we are here 24 hours a day, every day.  A counselor in the Assessment & Referral Center is always available to speak with you and answer your questions or concerns.  Please call at 757-496-3500.
